We believe that students should always be able to get to and from school safely, what better way to ensure this than to educate everyone in and around a school bus in the necessary safety principles. Bee Safe on a School Bus was created for this purpose.
Repetition and reinforcement are important elements of learning, and vital for information to be stored in long-term memory. When children are only exposed to valuable school bus safety principles once or sporadically, they soon forget what they were taught, putting them at a disadvantage and unable to help keep themselves safe. When we only teach the children these safety principles, we can’t expect parents, guardians and school bus operators to reinforce safety material that they haven’t been exposed to, we set out to fix that!
The Bee Safe on a School Bus program educates not just the student riders but also the parents, guardians and the school bus operators. School bus operators have many children in their care and very little time to educate their charges, when they only have to reinforce information the students have already been taught, it makes it easier for the operator and safer for all students who ride the bus. Parents and guardians can reinforce rules on the way to, at and home from the school bus stop. It’s easy to reinforce consistent safety rules when everyone is educated in the same school bus safety principles.
